You no longer need a valid vaccine pass to participate in our Wine Walks Tours. Face coverings are encouraged whilst outdoors and required to be worn in accordance with each individual venue safety procedures.
We usually operate year round; fully appreciating the seasons and the winemaker calendar. Autumn is one of the best times for a wine walk, as the grapes are being harvested. The vines change colour and the days are long, cool and dry. Winter is a good time to look at pruning techniques, whilst spring offers new shoot growth and interesting vineyard activity. Summer can be hot - for which we can supply shade umbrellas on request. This is a lovely time to relax in the shade with a tasty vineyard platter to share.
We have different tours that have a minimum of 4 persons. However, we often have people pre-booked. It can usually be arranged to add a single person or couple to a tour.
YES! All food, drinks, tasting fees and activities on the tour are included. Please note that no food is provided on the "Afternoon Meander Tour".

Most tours begin with a cup of coffee and an introduction to our region. This takes place at Martinborough Wine Merchants, located at 6 Kitchener Street, Martinborough. The "Afternoon Meander Tour" (a half day tour) will start after lunch at your chosen spot on Puruatanga Rd.
Good walking shoes are needed as we traverse through vineyards rather than on footpaths. You should dress appropriately for the forecasted weather - eg a jacket. We supply umbrellas, food and tastings. You are welcome to take photos and media footage on your Wine Walk. Please note we do not provide food on the "Afternoon Meander Walk".
Martinborough is the only wine region in New Zealand where you can literally walk between vineyards and wine producers. Our Wine Walks are designed to give tour goers a behind the scenes experience that includes producers not open to the public. With advance notice (min. 2 weeks) we can arrange a curated experience with shuttle transport between producers. Just get in touch to discuss.
Depending on their availability, we can create a Wine Walk that visits specific producers. Get in touch with us at least 2 weeks before your desired date and we will do our best to create your preferred walk.
A Martinborough Wine Walk is the perfect activity for a stay in Martinborough. Most accommodation options are within walking distance. Alternatively, we recommend that you pre-book transport options before your tour.
If you cancel a booking more than 7 days before departure, your booking can rescheduled to an alternative date at no extra cost. Alternatively, you can be refunded less $50 per person (administration and tour curation). If you cancel inside of 7 days before departure, bookings can not be refunded. However, we may be able to transfer your booking to an alternative date.
We WALK! We leave only footprints in the vineyard of the producers that we visit. Martinborough Wine Walks (affiliated with Martinborough Wine Merchants) sponsor New Zealand Forest & Bird. For every Wine Walk participant, we donate to the Martinborough Karearea/NZ Bush Falcon Project. The majority of the vineyards visited are Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand Accredited Vineyards – for more information visit www.nzwine.com. Our key food providers use local ingredients, produce much of their food onsite, and recycle food, glass and paper waste. We are very proud of our contribution to a sustainable wine tourism environment and will continue to monitor, manage and minimise any environmental impacts of our business.
